Finally got around to installing my Stillen Gen3 Intake the other day and took some video in the process. Reports were that the intake was a real bear to install–that proved to be correct!!! The hard part was trying to get the pipes aligned to minimize any potential rubbing. It took a lot of fiddling, but I think I got it as good as it can be. The intake looks great in the engine bay, makes beautiful noise when you get on the throttle (but not too loud in-cabin), and makes impressive power at high RPM. Fitment could be better, but all in all, kudos Stillen! Install Notes: * Bumper cover removal – I did not remove it but to get the drivers end pipe in, some minor scratching to the middle of the pipe will occur. * Enlarging holes – a dremel would have worked (esp. multipurpose cutting drill bit or cutting wheel and flex extension) but I got a new tool recently, the Rockwell SoniCrafter which you may have seen on TV–made plunge cuts really really easy! * Filter bracket placement – final location (video segment was NOT final position) was 3rd hole from the top (and oriented with holes up)–one hole below the one shown in the video, with the bracket oriented up instead of down. * Filter shield – the center brace is somewhat in the way when attaching the shield to the passenger side filter as instructed. I chose to mount it to the driver’s side filter (switched longer bolt on passenger filter to driver’s side). Not in video: * Horn – stock position is in the way. Remove the …

@IXScroungerXI – have not felt a loss of torque at low rpm. basically feels the same up until higher rpm where there is a kick in the pants instead of a tailing off in power.
Definitely getting these for my HR Z. I’ve seen a lot of people get some good gains from them. Only thing is that I’ve heard some people lose a bit of torque in the lower RPMs with these. This happen to you?
Great video, btw.
@mbciptr – sweet, now sit back and enjoy! Just make sure you put some cut rubber hose where the tube passes through the air ducts. There is metal there that may contact if the position shifts and has been know to wear through the metal on some installations.
I agree with you this thing was pretty challenging to fit in through the air ducts. Finally finished it last night and pleased with the overall difference in sound and a little more power.
Just got mine in yesterday and it rained last night plus the inconvenience of a full garage. Installing it today for sure and thanks for this helpful video.
@sicilianplaya23 – Rockwell Sonicrafter oscillating tool. Dremel, Fein, and Harbor Freight also make one.
what tool is that ? i want it ?
@Frankieman1 i believe if they can proove that the problem occured from the intakes than the warranty is void if not u should be safe
song name?
@YOUCANNOTDENY – Alice Deejay – better off alone
song name?
@Frankieman1
It would depend on the dealer as well. Some dealers refuse to work on cars with some light modification
im waiting on my injens dint want to cut nothing these do look nice as fuck
its nice to make the work to your own car…pretty sure you love your cars so much…drive safe outhere
everytime i see this makes me so wanna go and buy it!
everytime i see this makes me so wanna go and buy it!
@mishmosh2000 just keep the parts if something happens u put the stock intake back on
@YOUCANNOTDENY nvm used midomi……can’t believe i didn’t know the most famous song of all.
What song is this?
Sounds good and the pipes really spruce up a plastic-heavy engine bay. Sucks to see you had to cut stuff though.
@chud89 nah dude. it is actually all me. parents bought my first 2 cars(92 fox body & 94 civic) and now im buying a g35 coupe 6spd. i mean, if u really dont believe me, u could come over here where i live and i can prove it lol
parents arnt involved hahahah you know they are u little boy!
yea, cuz ill be kickin it sideways every once in a while haha. i’ve seen some kits where it has a easy damper adjustment on the shock, that has presets for stuff like drift, drag, track, street, etc.
I dont really know much about the G35′s suspension. I’m more of an Engine buff than anything. Check out tuner mags. Typically you want a stiff suspension that limits body roll. Too stiff or too loose and you’ll lose it.
yea, im not really determined to get more power outta my car at the start. im just focused on getting the suspension for it since it cost like a grand. what coilover kit would u recommend? anything?
